The
Port of Holyhead is located at the far west of the Isle of Anglesey
in North Wales.
The Ferry Terminals, one for passengers & one for vehicles,
are operated by Stena Line & Irish Ferries, operating services
to Ireland. The town of Holyhead has a number of excellent places to eat plus a local theatre & cinema. Anglesey itself is a wonderful place to visit, it offers excellent fishing, golfing, sailing, beautiful scenery, walks & beaches, as well as a number of historic & prehistoric sites. |
Directions by Car |
The
Port is situated approx 25 mins drive from the north of Belfast. From Belfast take the M2 north and stay in lanes 2 & 3 for about 4.5 miles & the take the slip road to the left marked Larne via A8(M). Follow signs to Larne & then Ferry Port. |
Directions by Train |
Holyhead Railway Station is situated next to the terminal building and offers direct services to all major rail routes. |

Terminal Facilities |
Terminal facilities include a passenger's cafe as well as a motorist's one serving a selection of snacks, hot & cold drinks, ATM, Baggage Trolleys, a bureau de change, tourist information, Payphone, Hot & Cold Drinks Vending Machines, car hire, lifts, as well as disabled access and toilets. |
Car Parking |
Free short term parking ( 20 minutes only ) is available outside the main terminal building. This facility is only for dropping off and picking up passengers using the ferry services. Please beware vehicle clamping ( £50 release fee ) is in operation. The long term car parks ( 560 spaces ) are situated a short distance from the terminal building. Current costs are £7.00 a day or £30.00 for the week. Payment can be made at the pay and ticket machines. A free park and reide shuttle bus service operates around the ships arrival and departure times. The car parks are patrolled & also have CCTV coverage. |
Nearest Petrol Station |
There is a Tesco Supermarket and Petrol Station on the Penrhos Industrial Estate approx 1 mile from the ferry port just off both the A55 and A5. Phone 0845 6779356 Open Mon-Fri 8am - 9pm Sat 7.30am to 9pm Sun 10am to 4pm |
Special Needs Information |
The Terminals have lifts, escalators, disabled toilet facilities, as well as disabled parking bays outside. Wheelchairs are available on request. Priority boarding can be provided to disabled car drivers and passengers, providing notification has been given at the time of booking. A Mother and Baby room is also available. |
